About Me

Hi! I'm Jason - a recent BSc Neuroscience graduate and upcoming LaFosse trainee with a strong foundation in data-driven problem solving and a great passion for building smart, efficient solutions through code and automating repetitive tasks. Starting my programming journey in 6th form, where I created a fully functioning online chess and checkers game using Python, complete with an SQL database as my final project.

During university, I pivoted from my initial focus on neuroscience to artificial intelligence and data science, focusing my studies around machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis and linear algebra. During the summers of 2023 and 2024, I worked in a university lab, where I gained invaluable experience in working in a team environment. For my final year dissertation, I downsized an existing computational simulation of a neuron cluster, into a simpler rate-based model, becoming proficient in BASH, Python, git and Linux.

I'm experienced in programming with Python, C, and Node.js, familiar with HTML, CSS, C#, R, and SQL, and fully comfortable using Git for version control and collaborating on projects. My background in data analysis and machine learning has equipped me with a structured, analytical approach to software development.

I am a firm believer in continuous study and self-improvement, always happy to learn something new, and thrive in high-pressure environments requiring constant adaptation. Outside work, I enjoy reading, watching documentaries and I'm a video game enthusiast.
